As title. I have two computers which is connected with cross over cable. Before I activate ICS to share internet connection, I managed to make two computers in a homegroup where they can share files and printer etc. After that, I bridged my 2 LAN cards, and activate the ICS. In my bridges LAN, it auto changed to 192.168.0.1 which I think is normal for ICS. Then my another PC set an IP of 192.168.0.20 with it's gateway and DNS 192.168.0.1, and I suceeded to share internet connection. But by this way, I am unable to linked both PC under a homegroup, thus can't share anything besides internet.

So, my question is, is it possible to do both file/prrinter and internet share among two PCs at the same time ? What's the setting have to be done ? Both using W7 x64.

Sorry if my question a bit dumb but I am not so good in networking stuff.

It seems like you've set up Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) between your two computers using a crossover cable and have successfully shared the internet connection. However, you're facing issues with sharing files, printers, etc., through a homegroup while the ICS is active. To achieve both file/printer sharing and internet sharing simultaneously between two PCs using Windows 7 x64, you can follow these steps: 1. Set Up a Homegroup: - Create or join a homegroup on both computers to enable file and printer sharing. - Make sure both PCs are in the same homegroup by following these steps: - Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. - Click on "Homegroup" and follow the instructions to create or join a homegroup. 2...

Configure Network Settings: - Ensure that each computer has a unique name on the network. - Set the network location to "Home network" for both PCs. - Go to Network and Sharing Center > Click on the network name > Choose "Home network." 3. Adjust Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Settings: - Configure Internet Connection Sharing to use a different subnet than the default 192.168.0.x range to avoid conflicts with the homegroup. - For example, you can set the ICS network to use 192.168.1.x instead of 192.168.0.x. 4. Manual IP Address Configuration: - Assign static IP addresses to each PC within the same subnet but different from the ICS network range. - For example, you can set one PC to 192.168.1.2 and the other to 192.168.1.3, both with the gateway set to the ICS-enabled PC. 5. Check Firewall and Security Settings: - Ensure that your firewall settings allow file and printer sharing. - Check network discovery and file sharing settings in the Network and Sharing Center. By following these steps, you should be able to have both internet sharing through ICS and file/printer sharing through the homegroup functionality on your Windows 7 x64 PCs simultaneously. If you encounter any specific issues during the setup process, feel free to ask for assistance. It's important to ensure that the network configurations are correct and that all necessary permissions for sharing are in place to facilitate smooth communication between the two PCs.
