For the past few weeks, I get that speech bubble saying that the newest version of Java is ready to be installed. I get an error message saying that "The feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable." I press OK and it says "The path....Redist.msi cannot be found. I pressed cancel and get an error code 1706. I believe that it is trying to install something that doesn't exist (Redist) except I have no idea where to find it. Screenshots are attached.Link RemovedLink RemovedLink Removed

Solution
It seems like you are encountering an issue with Java installation where the installer is unable to locate a specific file ("Redist.msi") resulting in error code 1706. This error typically occurs when the installer is looking for a file on a network location that is not accessible. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps: 1. Download Java Offline Installer: Instead of using the online installer that requires network access, download the offline installer for Java. This will ensure that all necessary files are available locally during the installation process. 2. Uninstall Existing Java: Before proceeding with the installation, uninstall any existing Java installations on your system to avoid conflicts. 3...

Run Installation as Administrator: Right-click on the Java installer and select "Run as administrator" to ensure that the installation has the necessary permissions. 4. Check Path Variables: Verify that the PATH environment variable on your system is correctly set. Sometimes incorrect path variables can cause installation issues. 5. Clean Temporary Files: Clear temporary files and folders on your system. Sometimes, remnants of previous installations can interfere with new installations. 6. Use Microsoft Fix it Tool: Microsoft offers a Fix It tool that can automatically fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed. You can try running this tool to address any installation issues. After following these steps, try reinstalling Java using the offline installer. This should help you avoid the error related to the missing Redist.msi file. If you encounter any further issues, feel free to provide more details or screenshots for additional support.
