Hi. On my former Windows 10 system, I could open a folder and then type a letter (a,b...) to jump immediately to the first file or subfolder beginning with that letter. However, since updating to Windows 11, I can no longer do that. Nothing at all happens when I type a letter. Can anyone help me get back to this very handy functionality? I should probably mention that I'm also using Classic Shell so as to have the status bar at the bottom of the window. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me!

Could be classic shell. I have no problems in Windows 11 with hitting a letter and it jumping

Thank you, Neemobeer. After reading your message, I uninstalled Classic Shell and rebooted. Still not working. When I hit a letter, the letter appears in the search box of the file explorer but nothing else happens.
