Kyndryl, the world's largest IT infrastructure services provider, has announced an expansion of its Distributed Cloud capabilities through a collaboration with Microsoft. This partnership aims to deliver adaptive cloud services designed to help enterprises innovate, modernize, and simplify their operations across hybrid, multicloud, edge, and IoT environments.
The new services integrate with Microsoft Azure Arc, Azure Local, and Azure Cloud, facilitating a seamless transition for businesses while maximizing return on investment. Sunil Bhargava, Senior Vice President and Global Cloud Practice Azure Leader at Kyndryl, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating that as IT environments become more complex, Kyndryl's Distributed Cloud services enable the delivery of an adaptive cloud model to help businesses streamline operations and achieve strategic goals with greater agility and lower cost, particularly for virtualization and virtual desktop deployments.
Ricardo Davila, General Manager at Microsoft, highlighted the partnership's commitment to driving customer innovation in a rapidly evolving business landscape. By leveraging Microsoft Azure's capabilities, Kyndryl empowers customers to fully realize the transformative value of their technology investments.
Kyndryl's Distributed Cloud services apply Microsoft's adaptive cloud approach to address various industry-specific use cases and AI opportunities, including:
  • Retail: Enhancing in-store technologies such as digital signage, AI video solutions, electronic shelf labeling, asset tracking, loyalty programs, data pipelines, and real-time personalized promotions.
  • Manufacturing and Energy: Modernizing data centers and edge environments to support innovations like digital twins, AI video solutions, robotic process automation, predictive maintenance, IoT data streams, asset tracking, and anomaly detection.
  • Healthcare: Improving patient outcomes through AI analysis of medical images, virtual desktop infrastructure, data ingestion from hospitals, augmented reality-assisted surgery, intelligent power management, and secure 5G networks.
