I've found the Particle (once called Spark) boards to be the easiest way to get started in the Internet of Things. Since each chip is wifi enabled from the start, it's easy to flash code! Here I set up the board two different ways: using the app, and using Windows 10 with Putty. Thanks to Nick Landry for showing me the Putty solution!
