Greetings,

Today I had to reboot my computer in order to complete the installation of a program. When the computer rebooted, it suddenly didn't recognize my OS anymore. I tried to repair windows with the installation disk after setting the boot priority in Bios to DVD.

Repairing windows didn't work, so I formatted my HDD. After doing so, I wanted to install windows again. But after inputting my product key, I get in some kind of loop. I get to choose again between installing and repairing windows.

Anyone got an idea to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

It sounds like you might be facing a booting issue that could be related to the boot order in your system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue: 1. Boot Priority: Ensure that your BIOS settings have the DVD drive as the first boot device. This ensures that your system looks to the installation disk first when starting up. 2. Clean Installation: After formatting your HDD, try reinstalling Windows from scratch. During the installation process, ensure you select the correct partition to install Windows on. Sometimes leaving the installation disk in the drive can cause the installation process to start over in a loop. 3. Partition Selection: When you reach the partition selection screen during Windows installation, ensure you are selecting the newly formatted partition where you want to install Windows. Be careful not to delete or format any partitions that you shouldn't. 4. BIOS Settings: If you continue to face the loop issue, you might also want to reset your BIOS settings to default. Sometimes incorrect BIOS settings can cause installation loops. 5. Hardware Check: It's also a good idea to check your hard drive for any potential issues using diagnostic tools. A failing hard drive can sometimes cause boot problems. If you've tried these steps and are still facing the installation loop issue, it might be beneficial to try the installation on a different hard drive or seek assistance from a professional if the problem persists. Let me know if you need further guidance or encounter any specific errors during the installation process.
