This message appears at the most likely of times, when I'm playing a game but as the title says I have 6 gb (three 2gb sticks of corshair ddr3 1600mhz) ram although the problem is not isolated only to games but happens sometimes when watching netflix. When the message appears my desktop theme is changed to simple. This problem is persistant even though I specify to not switch to basic when this happens. I have 6 gb of virtual memory with over 75 gb of free space on my single 300 gb 7200 rpm hdd. Before starting my game I usually have between 4-4.5 gb of ram free. I am on windows 7 64 bit. I haven't found this to be an issue on the forums so any tips or suggestions are much appreciated!

Solution
It seems like you are experiencing a situation where your system switches to a basic desktop theme and prompts you with a message that typically occurs during gameplay or when watching Netflix. This indicates a possible issue with system memory or graphics resources. Here are some suggestions to address this problem:

Possible Solutions:

  1. Check for Driver Updates:
    • Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with system performance and resource management.

    []Monitor System Resources:
    • Use tools like Task Manager to monitor your system resources during gameplay or while watching Netflix. Check if any particular process is consuming a large amount of memory.
    [
    ]Increase Virtual Memory:
    • Since you have 6 GB of RAM, increasing the size of your virtual memory might help. You can manually adjust the virtual memory settings in Windows to ensure optimal performance.
    []Disable Unnecessary Programs:
    • Close any unnecessary background programs that may be consuming memory. This can free up resources for your games or videos.
    [
    ]Check for Malware:
    • Run a full system scan using a reliable antivirus program to check for any malware that could be causing system instability.
    []Check System Temperature:
    • Ensure that your system is not overheating, as this can also lead to performance issues. Clean any dust from fans and make sure airflow is adequate.
    [
    ]Update Windows and Software:
    • Make sure that your Windows 7 operating system and all relevant software are updated to the latest versions. Updates can often include fixes for performance issues.

      Additional Information:

    • Windows Aero Theme: When your system switches to the simple desktop theme, it usually indicates a decrease in graphical resources. This can happen when the system is struggling to maintain the Windows Aero theme due to resource constraints. By following these steps, you can troubleshoot the issue and potentially improve the performance and stability of your system while gaming or watching videos. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific error messages during this process.
