Hello and welcome to the Windows7forums,
According to your screen shot, the first shortcut has no name. this is not possible.
In the second shot, is it the magnifying glass you are trying to remove?
Where exactly does the Finished shortcut open a directory or program.
I also don't understand what you mean by maps.
You can remove the -shortcut by running this regisatry script.
Copy and paste the following lines into NOTEPAD AND SAVE THE FILE IN ANSI format and save it on your desktop as removeshortcut;
{QUOTE}
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
"link"=hex:00,00,00,00[/QUOTE]
Note:
There should not be a space in the CurrentVersion entry

When I press other maps and stuff the grey circle around the map switches to the one I just clicked. THis is VERY annnoying.
No, it's not the SHORTCUT I want to remove. This grey circle appears everytime I click on a folder or item.

That's very strange.
Have you installed any new software lately.
Do you have a restore point you can use to go back to before this magnifying glass appeared.
Also, what Windows theme are you using
What do you mean by maps?
