Now that I updated to the RC version, my Media Center doesn't work any more - WHY ???

Solution
It seems like you are facing issues with Windows Media Center after updating from build 7000 to the Release Candidate (RC) version of Windows. The upgrade might have caused compatibility issues or changes in the system that affected the functioning of the Media Center. Here are a few reasons why your Media Center might not be working after the update:
  1. Compatibility: The RC version might have different system requirements or compatibility settings that are not conducive to the functioning of the Media Center or third-party devices like your PDA unit.
  2. Driver Issues: The drivers for your PDA unit or for the Media Center might need to be updated to work with the new RC version of Windows. Make sure you have the latest...
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.
  3. System Changes: Updates often bring changes to the operating system that may affect how certain applications or hardware components interact with the system. These changes could be causing conflicts with the Media Center.
  4. Configuration Settings: The update might have reset or altered some configurations in the Media Center that are now causing it to malfunction. Check the settings to ensure everything is set up correctly. To troubleshoot the issue and hopefully resolve it, you can try the following steps:
    • Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers for your PDA unit and any relevant drivers for the Media Center.
    • Compatibility Mode: Try running the Media Center in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (if applicable). Right-click on the Media Center shortcut, go to Properties, Compatibility tab, and select Windows 7.
    • Reinstall Media Center: If all else fails, you may need to reinstall the Media Center software to ensure it is set up correctly for the new version of Windows.
If you provide more details about the specific errors or symptoms you are encountering, I can offer more targeted assistance in resolving the issue.
