Hello! It sounds like you're experiencing a problem with Windows Movie Maker on Windows XP while trying to save your movie project to a WMV file format. The issue you're facing with the 'minutes remaining' continuously increasing without the file saving could be due to various reasons such as file size, system resources, or even compatibility issues with newer formats. Since you are limited to using Windows Movie Maker 2.1 on Windows XP and might not have the option to upgrade, here are a few suggestions that may help resolve the issue: 1. Reduce Project Size: If your movie project is large, try simplifying it by reducing the number of effects, transitions, or elements in the project to see if that helps in saving the file...

Reduce Project Size: If your movie project is large, try simplifying it by reducing the number of effects, transitions, or elements in the project to see if that helps in saving the file successfully. 2. Save in Segments: Instead of saving the entire movie in one go, try saving it in smaller segments or parts. This can help in avoiding issues related to large file sizes during the saving process. 3. Change Output Settings: Check the output settings in Windows Movie Maker to ensure they are set correctly for saving to WMV format. Sometimes incorrect settings can cause issues with saving the file. 4. Temporary Files: Clear out any temporary files or cache that might be taking up unnecessary space on your system. This can sometimes affect the saving process. 5. Check System Resources: Make sure your system has enough resources (CPU, RAM, disk space) available to handle the saving process. Close any unnecessary programs running in the background. 6. Restart the Application: Sometimes, simply restarting Windows Movie Maker can resolve temporary glitches or issues that may be causing the saving problem. If you've tried these steps and are still unable to save your movie project successfully, you may want to consider alternative video editing software that is compatible with Windows XP and supports saving to WMV format. Additionally, you can also try saving the project in a different format and then using a separate video converter tool to convert it to WMV. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific errors during the saving process!
