Hi,

I'm having troubles with installation of keyboard layout I've created. I've created it with MKLC, the output is an .msi installation file and a .dll.
When I try installing it, Win7 asks a permission to let the program making changes.. blabla..., but after I grant my permission, the installer complains that it was disturb during installation process and the installation failed.
Running the file with admin rights didn't help. Changing the file owner to admin/system didn't help. I wanna avoid disabling the security system.
I've Win7 x64bit 7100 build.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Alex.

It seems like you are encountering issues with installing a custom keyboard layout on Windows 7 x64bit (7100 build). Here are some troubleshooting steps and ideas to help you resolve this installation problem: 1. Compatibility Mode: - Try running the installation file in compatibility mode for Windows 7: - Right-click on the installer file (.msi) or setup file. - Select "Properties." - Go to the "Compatibility" tab. - Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows 7" from the dropdown. - Apply the changes and try running the installer again. 2. Install as Administrator: - Even if you are already running the installer with admin rights, you can try explicitly running it as an administrator...

Install as Administrator: - Even if you are already running the installer with admin rights, you can try explicitly running it as an administrator: - Right-click on the installer file. - Select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. - Confirm any UAC prompts that appear. 3. UAC Settings: - Check your User Account Control (UAC) settings: - Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings. - Set the slider to the default level or the level that prompts you when apps try to make changes to your computer. 4. Safe Mode Installation: - Try installing the keyboard layout in Safe Mode: - Restart your computer and press F8 during startup to access the Advanced Boot Options menu. - Select "Safe Mode" and try running the installer again. 5. Verify Installer Integrity: - Ensure that the installer file (.msi) is not corrupt. You can try re-downloading it or checking the integrity of the file. 6. Event Viewer: - Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages related to the installation process. This might provide more detailed information on what went wrong. 7. Temporarily Disable Antivirus: - Temporarily disable any antivirus or security software during the installation to see if it's interfering with the process. If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be deeper compatibility issues with the keyboard layout and the Windows 7 build you are using. In such cases, you may need to reach out to the developer of the keyboard layout software for further assistance or consider alternative methods for installing custom keyboard layouts.
