The guts..
Dell D830 with Docking Station
Jaton Video-558PCI-DLP (Nvidia GeForce 8400GS) PCI card

Downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia, installed.. no worries.. however I am getting error code 12 stating that it's conflicting with another device and to disable other the devices it's in conflict with.

I tried disabling various devices but can't seem to find where the conflict is. This setup was working well under xp.

Any thoughts?

Resolve Resource Conflicts: - If you find any conflicts, try changing the resources for the conflicting device(s) to resolve the conflict. You can try changing the IRQ settings or other resource allocations. - You may need to manually assign resources in the device properties to avoid conflicts. 3. Update System BIOS and Drivers: - Ensure that your Dell D830's BIOS is up to date. Sometimes BIOS updates can resolve resource conflicts. - Make sure all your drivers, including chipset drivers, are updated to the latest versions. 4. Check Docking Station Connections: - Ensure that the docking station is properly connected to the laptop. Sometimes connectivity issues can lead to errors. 5. Try a Different PCI Slot: - If possible, try installing the Nvidia card in a different PCI slot on your Dell D830 or the docking station. 6. Rollback Driver: - If updating to the latest driver caused the issue, you may try rolling back to the previous driver version. 7. Compatibility Mode: - Try running the driver installer in compatibility mode for Windows XP. Right-click on the installer, go to Properties, and then the Compatibility tab. 8. Check for Windows System Updates: - Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues. By following these steps, you may be able to identify and resolve the resource conflict causing the Code 12 error on your system. If the issue persists, you may need to further investigate the specific resource allocations and possibly contact Dell or Nvidia support for assistance.
