An image from 'My laptop keeps restarting while installing Windows 10 from a bootable usb'. Windows installation progress screen showing stages like copying files and installing features.
my Dell Inspiron 15r laptop keeps on restarting after the installation of windows 10 is done from a bootable USB and when I try to restart and use Windows 8 which was preinstalled it shows a message on a black screen.

Check your BIOS settings and see if it detects the hard drive. If it does then do a hard drive scan.

Follow these steps:
  • Continuously press F8 before Windows logo appears;
  • Release F8 until the boot menu shows up and choose Safe Mode;
  • Boot computer from Safe Mode and go to search after Windows boot up;
  • Type: sysdm.cpl and open sysdm.cpl;
  • Click Advanced > Settings under Startup and Recovery;
  • Uncheck Automatically restart;
  • Click OK and reboot computer.
