I just got a brand new Dell Studio XPS laptop yesterday, with Windows 7 installed on it, and already, it refuses to boot. I've run startup system repair from both the hard disk, as well as the cd/dvd, to no avail. It will say it's loading, will search for the problems, but cannot repair them. I tried running it again, and now it won't even load the that screen. I have no idea what to do...

Solution
I don't mean to blow you off, but call Dell's toll-free support number and ask what's going on or get a replacement.

That's just ridiculous that it won't boot out of the box.

Be firm with them, as they'll probably try to give you the runaround.

Reghakr's suggestion is the best help you will get for a brand new computer!! For what it's worth, My son works for Dell, as a travelling trouble shooter. I think, if you are strong enough, you could get them to come and visit you and fix the problem (or replace) in situi.
