I'm running Windows 7 x64 and I installed Paul's voice from Neospeech. It did install, unlike the AT&T natural voices, but the narrator isn't picking it up as an active voice after installation and reboot. Is there something more I need to do or does the voice just not work?

I tried doing a Google and searching for voices that are at least x64 compatible, but I didn't find anything. I'm not a fan of Anna's voice so if someone could suggest another site with a few different voices that'd be nice.

  3. Restart Windows Audio Service: Sometimes, restarting the Windows Audio service can help in recognizing newly installed voices. You can do this by:
    • Pressing Win + R to open the Run dialog.
    • Type services.msc and hit Enter.
    • Locate the "Windows Audio" service, right-click on it, and select Restart.
[]Check Voice Compatibility: Ensure that the Neospeech voice you installed is compatible with Windows 7 x64. You may need to check the documentation provided by Neospeech or contact their support for compatibility issues. []Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows 7 system is up to date with all the latest updates. Sometimes, updates can include compatibility fixes for third-party software and voices. Regarding finding alternative voices, it can be challenging to locate specific voices that are both compatible with Windows 7 x64 and provide a variety of options. One way to explore diverse voices is by looking into third-party text-to-speech software that offers a selection of voices. Here are a few reputable text-to-speech software providers that offer a range of voices:
    • IVONA: Known for high-quality natural-sounding voices.
    • CereProc: Provides a variety of voices with different accents and languages.
    • Acapela Group: Offers a wide selection of voices for different applications.
You might need to purchase voices from these providers, but they generally offer trials so you can test them before buying. If you continue to face issues with Paul's voice or if you're looking for more alternatives, exploring these third-party providers could be beneficial. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any roadblocks during the process!
