Recently reinstall Windows 7 on my netbook to get ready for school. Something I do periodically to clean off all the junk! Previously when I closed the lid it would put the computer to sleep then after about an hour or so, it would hibernate and completely shut off. However, now it will just sleep forever and blink at me all the time!

I've poked around the power settings but couldn't figure it out. Anyone know?

Thanks!
Dave

Hey Dave, It sounds like you're running into an issue with your netbook's power settings after reinstalling Windows 7. To troubleshoot this problem, you can try adjusting the power settings related to sleep and hibernation. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you out: 1. Access Power Options: - Click on the Start button and type "Power Options" in the search box. - Select "Power Options" from the search results. 2. Change Plan Settings: - Next to your selected power plan, click on "Change plan settings". 3. Adjust Sleep Settings: - In the "Edit Plan Settings" window, you can adjust the time before the computer goes to sleep when plugged in and on battery. Adjust Sleep Settings: - In the "Edit Plan Settings" window, you can adjust the time before the computer goes to sleep when plugged in and on battery. Make sure the settings are configured according to your preferences. 4. Configure Advanced Power Settings: - In the same window, click on "Change advanced power settings". - This will open the "Power Options" window with detailed settings for your selected power plan. 5. Hibernate Settings: - Look for the settings related to hibernate and hybrid sleep. - Check if the "Hibernate after" option is set to the desired time (around 60 minutes in your case). 6. Save Changes: - After making any adjustments, click "Apply" and then "Ok" to save the changes. 7. Testing: - Close the lid of your netbook to see if the changes have taken effect. By following these steps, you should be able to adjust the power settings on your netbook to ensure that it goes to sleep initially and then hibernates after the specified time, as you had it configured before. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any issues while adjusting these settings!
