Windows 8 NETIO.sys RANDOM CRASHES

Well NetIO.sys bsods are usually attributed to network/internet issues so make sure the correct network drivers are installed? I'd also check that your router has the latest firmware etc..
I've looked online and like you say there is firmware updates for the router. It would seem however that to access these you'll need to go through your isp for either a disk or a download to start the process. If you got a manual with it, check and see what it say's regarding firmware updates. Which is your provider?
