Can receive mails but cannot send (tried Live mail,Thunderbird,Outlook)
Have exactly the same settings on a Vista computer (same modem) which work fine.
Have also reinstalled Win 7.
Disabling NOD32 or Zonealarm does not help..

Smtp port

I have win 7 and outlook for gmail account, and work just fine, no problem at all.
Simple configuration, and no stress.

If you have a router, or a wireless conection try to open the ports for outlook or for you email program or check if there is no problem with your firewall whitin` this ports.
My advice is to check if those ports are open, especially outgoing smtp.

Incoming pop3: 995
Outgoing smtp: 587
"Otherwise be sure that your email provider is not restricting smtp and pop3 via outlook and for other programs, or you have to pay for this kind of service, like yahoo!"

I hope it will work.
