Windows 7 No SoundMAX audio device

Installed W7. Everything seemd to go fine. I have sound, yet my computer now says I do not have a SoundMAX audio device installed. I cannot open the control panel or anything. How can this be corrected? I have read posts for NO sound, but I have sound so I do not know what is going on and why it cannot see the card.

Have you gone to your boards site and downloaded and installed the latest drivers I had to do this for my ASUS P6t Deluxe v2 board?
