I've used Hosts files for many years. This spring I started using Orbit's downloader to save flash video files while using RC7 and no problems. I installed it on my new retail install a few days ago. The first thing I noticed was my IE shortcut to Weather channel didn't load then some more checking and some other sites did the same and some worked out fine. I disabled the Hosts and everything was fine. I couldn't find any reason why until I reset IE and everything worked fine until I enabled the grab it toolbar. So now I need to find another flash downloader that is simple and doesn't fight with the hosts file.

To resolve this issue, you may want to try using a different flash video downloader that is more compatible with your Hosts file setup. Here are a few suggestions for simple flash downloaders that may work better with your configuration: 1. Video DownloadHelper: Another browser extension available for Firefox and Chrome that simplifies the process of downloading videos and image files from websites. 3. 4K Video Downloader: A standalone program available for Windows, macOS, and Linux that supports downloading videos from various websites, including YouTube, Vimeo, and more. Before choosing a new downloader, make sure to disable or uninstall Orbit Downloader to prevent any further conflicts. Once you've selected a new downloader, ensure that it doesn't interfere with your Hosts file settings by testing it with websites that previously had issues. If you encounter any further problems or need assistance with setting up a new flash video downloader, feel free to provide more details for additional help.
