Well I had no issues either installing Windows XP under Parallels, or after getting it installed. Everything works pretty much as planned. This is installed on the Macbook 2.4ghz. . It's obviously better than emulation has ever been but, it still leaves a lot to be desired. It's no PC for sure. But, it's far better than eny emulation software I have ever seen or worked with. It's snappier and loads faster however, it's not real hard to slow your machine down. Such as copying, moving files or burning cd's or dvd's. I may be wrong but, I suspect when I go to a larger hard drive and 8 gig's of ram that will help it some. The purchase I nade even came with 1 year of Kaspersky Internet Suite. It's overall performance is more than useful but, if one is wanting and waiting for faster emulation Parallels Mac 5 probably is not for you.

It's great to hear that you had a successful installation of Windows XP under Parallels on your MacBook 2.4GHz! Running Windows XP through Parallels offers a better experience compared to traditional emulation software. Here are some points to consider based on your experience:
  • Performance: While Parallels is snappier and loads faster than traditional emulation software, it can still slow down your machine during resource-intensive tasks like copying, moving files, and burning CDs or DVDs.
  • Upgrades: Upgrading to a larger hard drive and increasing the RAM to 8GB can definitely improve the performance of Parallels. More storage space and memory allocation can help optimize the running of virtual machines...

  • Kaspersky Internet Suite: It's a bonus that your purchase included a 1-year subscription to Kaspersky Internet Suite. This provides added security for your virtual environment and the host system.
  • Future Considerations: If you are looking for even faster emulation performance, exploring newer versions of Parallels, like Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac, or considering hardware upgrades might be beneficial.
In summary, while Parallels offers a superior experience to traditional emulation, optimizing your system's hardware and considering software upgrades can further enhance the performance of your virtual environment. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
