I just tried for the first time to send a photo attachment in WLM for Win7 using the Photo E-Mail option, and it failed -- even using my live.com e-mail account. Now I can't find where to set the default back to inline.

If I can't send attachments I'm going to have to stop using WLM altogether.

Solution
When using Windows Live Mail (WLM) for Windows 7, encountering issues with sending photo attachments can be frustrating. To troubleshoot this problem and set the default back to inline attachments, follow these steps:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Email Sending Settings:
    • Open Windows Live Mail.
    • Go to the "Home" tab.
    • Click on "Options" in the ribbon.
    • Select "Mail..." from the drop-down menu.
    • In the "Options" window, go to the "Send" tab.
    • Ensure that the "Mail Sending Format" is set to "Send HTML only" or "Send Plain Text only." Avoid using "Send using Microsoft Outlook Rich Text Format."
    []Changing Default Attachment Behavior:

    ]Resolving Attachment Sending Failures:
    • If you're facing issues specifically with sending photos as attachments:
      • Ensure the photo file format is supported (e.g., JPEG, PNG).
      • Check the file size limitations for attachments set by your email provider.
      • Try sending a test email with a small-sized attachment to see if it goes through.
  2. Consider Alternative Email Clients:
    • If the issue persists and you're unable to resolve it, consider using alternative email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, or other web-based services like Gmail.

      Additional Suggestions:

      • Update Windows Live Mail: Make sure you have the latest updates for Windows Live Mail to address any known issues.
      • Check Email Account Settings: Review your email account settings to ensure they are configured correctly for sending emails.
      • Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the attachment sending issue in Windows Live Mail and set the default behavior back to inline attachments.
