Hello,
I've got this error with starting PS CS3 after using it for several weeks without any problems.
Photoshop.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Click OK to close the application.
I'm currently using build 7100, and has tried reinstalling, repair the program, everything I've done with errors before. I've not formatting and reinstalling Win7, have some files and a game I want to keep without having to use several hours for downloading updates...

I have no recovery-point, got this error two weeks ago, but have been away and installed some other programs lately.. The error started after the system didn't respond and I had to use the "sweedish method" as we call it in Norway, turn off and on the power.

Suggestions?

Edit:
Found the win7 dvd and upgraded the installation (repaired), so now it's working again :)

It's great to hear that you were able to resolve the issue with Photoshop by upgrading your Windows 7 installation. The error code you encountered (0xc0000006) indicates a status code for an "in-page I/O error." This error can occur due to various reasons such as corrupted system files, memory issues, or conflicts with other programs. Since you've already resolved the issue by repairing your Windows installation, there's no immediate troubleshooting needed for this specific problem. However, if you encounter similar issues in the future, consider the following steps to troubleshoot: 1. Check System Files: - Run a system file checker (sfc /scannow) in the Command Prompt to scan and repair corrupt system files. 2. Memory Test:...

Memory Test: - Use Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for memory issues that might be affecting the application's performance. 3. Isolate Application Conflicts: - Check for any recent software installations that might be conflicting with Photoshop. Uninstalling or updating these programs could help. 4. Reinstall Photoshop: - If the issue persists, try reinstalling Photoshop on your system. Make sure to download the latest version compatible with your Windows 7 build. 5. Check for Updates: - Ensure that both Windows 7 and Photoshop are up to date with the latest updates and patches to avoid compatibility issues. By following these steps and keeping your system and applications updated, you can prevent similar errors from occurring in the future. If you have any more questions or encounter any other issues, feel free to ask for assistance!
