I am using ultimate 32bit and the 'play to' feature doesnt work yet. It says it is 'contacting media server' and that is all it does. It finds my DLNA tv but even with all the share options ticked it doesnt go any further. It is using a wireless access point which may be stopping that sort of streaming but i can play movies from the laptop to the DLNA tv if i select the file via the tv. However i cant 'push' to the tv. Clear as mud? Any help appreciated

It seems like you are encountering issues with the "Play To" feature on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, where the media server is not being contacted properly. This feature allows you to stream media content from your PC to DLNA devices like your TV. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    []Firewall and Network Sharing Settings:

    • Make sure that network discovery and file sharing are enabled in your network sharing settings.

    ]Media Streaming Options:
    • Verify that media streaming is enabled and properly configured on your Windows 7 PC. You can check this in the Control Panel under "Network and Sharing Center" > "Media streaming options".
    []DLNA TV Compatibility:
    • Ensure that your DLNA TV is compatible with the "Play To" feature. Check the user manual or support documentation of your TV to confirm.
    [
    ]Driver and Software Updates:
    • Update the network adapter drivers on your PC and any relevant software related to media streaming to ensure compatibility and performance.
    []Restart Devices:
    • Try restarting both your PC and the DLNA TV to refresh the network connections. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
    [
    ]Alternative Streaming Options:
    • If the "Play To" feature continues to be problematic, consider using third-party DLNA media server software that may offer more flexibility and options for streaming.

      Additional Suggestions:

    • You mentioned that the wireless access point might be causing issues. If possible, try connecting your PC and DLNA TV directly to the same router or switch to rule out any interference from the access point. If you continue to experience issues, please provide more details about your network setup and any specific error messages you receive. This information can help in further diagnosing and resolving the problem.
