It seems like the issue you're experiencing with the PPPoE connection on Windows 7 might be related to the introduction of the service name by your service provider. This change might be causing issues with the connection setup in Windows 7. To troubleshoot this problem, you can try the following steps:

1. Remove the Service Name from PPPoE Configuration:

  • Go to Network and Sharing Center.
  • Click on "Change adapter settings."
  • Right-click on your PPPoE connection, select Properties.
  • In the PPPoE settings, check if there is an option to remove the service name. Try connecting without specifying the service name.

    2. Update Network Adapter Drivers:

    2. Update Network Adapter Drivers:

  • Ensure that your network adapter drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

    3. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure Windows 7 is fully updated. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues with network connections.

    4. Reset TCP/IP Stack:

  • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
  • Type the following commands one by one:
    Code:
netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset

    5. Check Firewall and Security Software:

  • Temporarily disable any security software or firewall that might be blocking the PPPoE connection.

    6. Test on a Different User Account:

  • Create a new user account on your Windows 7 machine and try connecting to PPPoE from that account to see if the issue persists.

    Windows 7 End of Support:

Please note that Windows 7 reached its end of support on January 14, 2020. It's recommended to consider upgrading to a supported operating system like Windows 10 for security and compatibility reasons. If the issue persists after trying these steps, it might be a specific compatibility issue with how Windows 7 handles the PPPoE connection with the new service name introduced by your service provider.
