Windows 7 Problem installing Windows updates

When I try to install updates, it tells me the computer needs to be restarted, then when I do, it will say it is configuring the updates, get to 35%, then say failure configuring the updates and revert the changes.

I am having the same problem. My computer will make several attempts at rebooting. Each time the operating system will say configuring updates ~40%, then "update failed" and reboot. In most cases I will have to manually stop the reboot cycle and restart the computer. Please help.
