Hello. I am testing out a brand new HP DT PC (Pavilion Slimline Model s5213w) which comes with Windows 7. I was browsing around the internet the other day when I got an error message that says,....
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
x Runtime error
Program:c:/programfiles (x86) Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
R6025
-Pure virtual function call

Other than that one time message, everything seems to be working ok EXCEPT for some web pages I cannot view as I get a message "need to enable cookies to view this content."
However, I just got off the phone with the HP techies who re-set me and tells me everything is working ok and that my cookies ARE enabled.

Also, another problem I have noted is that I cannot access "Tinyurls." I can go to the Tinyurl site and convert my long ones into tinys, but when I paste them into a browser or try to use them as links it takes me back to the tinyurl site with a message that says "link does not exist."

Now I see I have gotten this error message also "overstack at 66"
What the heck is that?

I have to make up my mind whether to keep this computer or not so would appreciate any advice as to what may be the problem here - laypersons language please. I am basically, computer illiterate.

Thanks!

It seems like you are encountering multiple issues with your new HP Pavilion Slimline PC running Windows 7. Let's break down the problems you mentioned and provide some guidance on how to address them: 1. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error (R6025): - This error typically occurs when a program tries to call a pure virtual function that is not implemented. In your case, it's related to Internet Explorer. - One way to address this issue is to reinstall or update the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages on your system. You can download them from the official Microsoft website. - Alternatively, you can try using a different web browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to see if the issue persists. 2. Cookies Enabled...

Cookies Enabled Issue: - Even though the HP technicians confirmed that your cookies are enabled, some websites may still have restrictions that prevent you from accessing content without enabling cookies. - To ensure cookies are enabled in Internet Explorer: - Open Internet Explorer. - Go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab. - Adjust the settings to allow cookies or set it to Medium. 3. TinyURLs Issue: - The problem with TinyURLs might be due to how the URLs are being handled by your browser or if there are extra characters being added inadvertently. - To properly use TinyURLs, just click on the generated TinyURL link rather than copying and pasting the TinyURL itself. This should redirect you to the original page. 4. "Overstack at 66" Error: - This error message is not standard and could be related to a specific application or website you are using. It might be a typo of "overflow" instead of "overstack." - If you continue to encounter this error, try providing more context on when it appears (e.g., which application or website triggers it) for better assistance. Considering your overall experience and the issues you are facing, it might be beneficial to explore different browsers and troubleshoot these specific issues to see if they persist. If the problems continue, reaching out to HP support or a local IT professional for further assistance could also be helpful. Feel free to try these suggestions and let me know if you need further assistance or encounter any other issues!
