Windows 7 Problems with a Green Screen?

I have a HP MINI netbook, and earlier (admittedly while watching TV, and paying very little attention) tried putting headphones in and managed to miss and put them in the USB port. The screen flickered and is now a mint green, and it won't switch off fully, and the screen stays green whenever i try to put it into hibernation. I'm trying to drain it of battery to see what happens, but that may take a while.
Anyone know any solutions? I've tried google and it came back with very little.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Sophie6 and welcome to the forum.
You may have caused a short and possibly even damaged the USB port and or the controller sub-system.
Typically you should be able to perform a hard reset of the system by turning if off, removing any external power, removing the battery, turning it back over and holding down the power button for 30 seconds or so.
Then replace the battery and external power and see if it will boot up with a normal screen.
Failing this you may want to check to see what options may be available to you through your warranty if applicable.
Regards
Randy
