I have clients that I have built RAID 0 array computers and all of them have the NVIDIA chipset except one has INTEL ICH7R. Intel updated their storage drivers so as not to allow the Quicktime app to shutdown the second drive in a RAID 0 Stripped array. Once you update the storage drivers you pull up the Matrix Storage Console and do something with it as not to allow this to happen. NVIDIA has not updated their drivers as of yet and my clients want to be able to use Quicktime. Does anyone have a fix for this error. When Quicktime is ran, the system stops responding and a hard reset has to be done. On the next bootup the RAID 0 array is gone and an Image Restore has to be done to get the OS back up and running.

Solution
It seems like you are facing an issue with Quicktime causing a system freeze that leads to data loss on computers with RAID 0 arrays, specifically those with NVIDIA chipsets. The problem stems from Intel updating their storage drivers to prevent this issue, but NVIDIA has not yet released a fix for this issue. Here are a few suggestions to potentially address this problem: 1. Driver Updates: While NVIDIA has not updated their drivers to address this specific issue, it's still worth checking if there are any new driver updates available for your NVIDIA chipset. Sometimes newer driver versions can provide fixes for compatibility issues. 2. Compatibility Mode: You can try running Quicktime in compatibility mode. Right-click on...

Right-click on the Quicktime executable, go to Properties, and then Compatibility. Try running it in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows to see if that helps prevent the system freeze. 3. Application Settings: Check within Quicktime if there are any specific settings or preferences that could be causing the conflict with the RAID 0 array setup. Sometimes certain configurations within applications can lead to unexpected behavior. 4. Alternative Media Players: If the issue persists, you might consider using alternative media players instead of Quicktime. There are many lightweight and reliable media players available that might not cause conflicts with RAID setups. 5. Consult NVIDIA Support: Reach out to NVIDIA's customer support or forums to inquire about any potential solutions or workarounds for using Quicktime on systems with NVIDIA chipsets and RAID 0 arrays. It's essential to back up important data regularly to avoid permanent data loss in case of unexpected system failures. If the issue persists, seeking assistance from NVIDIA or contacting Quicktime support for further guidance might be beneficial.
