It's a Power Management problem, may be cause by many things, go in control panel, then power option and try to find something not common, it can be cause by the sleep or hibernate features. Can you tell me if all the time you got the the blue screen, there is something you are always doing like playing flash on you browser (as exemple)?

And you can take a look at one of these websites.

thanks I'll try both options

I tried the suggestions in the article, except changing the bios setting. While adding files to the Media player, my computer flashed the BSOD. This was the error:

As I read on some other forum, this problem is not reported a lot, but with what I found, it's may still be due to power management coming from your hardware and not from Windows itself. What I suggest you is to find the lastest driver for your Bios, once you did it, look at you Windows Update history, and tell me if you get an ACPI ATK0110 driver update, or something like that.

The ACPI is the new gen technology to manage the way your PC power is used, if you found that you installed it, restart your computer and active the listing where you could choose the option to go in safe mode, but use the option "last known good configuration", it should remove the ACPI new driver and fix your problem at the same time. The blue screen may come back 1 time or 2, but after that, it should never come back.

And make sure you won't ever download it again.

If you still got a lot of BSoD, keep me aware, will try other things! ;)

1st I do not have the "ACPI ATK0110 driver update". I'm also looking for drivers for my bios. It's a bit harder than i thought. I think my motherboard may be outdated. (too bad it's only 2 years old). I'll let you know what I find. thnx again for the help.

Hi rmcnaugh

Are you still having the issue?
I just wanted to ask if you notice the problem when using Flash player?

Thanks.

actually no. That last particular error has not happened in a while. In fact windows 7 has been running better and better as I learn what works and what doesn't. I had to uninstall stuffit, which caused major errors , and use winzip. I'm a programmer/designer and found that CS4 runs 50% faster on windows 7 than xp service pack 3.

this was the last error that occurred:

The server {304CE942-6E39-40D8-943A-B913C40C9CD4} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

I'm not exactly sure what that means but I'm going to research it. But this was the first BSOD in almost 2 weeks. Anyway As for bios drivers, I found them but I am really nervous to install them. My system is running smoother now that i have added another fan.

Sounds like a driver error to me, most likely that goddamn 915G Chipset, it's a PoS.
Wouldn't even use a PC with one of those in it unless it was running XP.

hey all. I just had this one today. Any one have any idea on how to fix this?
