I'm trying to turn on hardware acceleration for autocad. I changed registry values from 0 to 1 for hardware enabled and hardware available. After opening autocad hw/ac option seems turning on. But after some time it turns off automatically. I opened regedit once again and see that hardware enabled and hardware available values are reverted to 0. Is there any way to keep it 1 always??

Solution
When you modify registry settings for hardware acceleration in AutoCAD, and they revert back to the original values after some time, it might be due to certain configurations or software routines that are resetting these values. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address this issue: 1. Permissions: Ensure that the user account modifying the registry settings has appropriate permissions to make these changes. Administrative rights are usually required to change registry entries, so ensure that the user has the necessary privileges. 2. Group Policies: Check if there are any Group Policies in place that might be overriding the registry settings related to hardware acceleration. 3. Third-Party Software...

Group Policies: Check if there are any Group Policies in place that might be overriding the registry settings related to hardware acceleration. 3. Third-Party Software: Sometimes, third-party software, especially system utilities or security applications, can interfere with registry settings. Disable non-essential background applications to rule out any conflicts. 4. AutoCAD Settings: Confirm that AutoCAD itself is not resetting these values. Some software applications have their custom settings that override system settings. 5. Registry Monitoring Tools: Use registry monitoring tools to track changes in the registry. This can help identify the exact process or application responsible for reverting the registry values. 6. Registry Locking: In some cases, security software might restrict changes to specific registry keys. Check if there are any software policies or security features that are reverting the changes. 7. System Restore: If the issue persists, you can consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point where the registry settings were stable. By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and address the issue of registry settings for hardware acceleration in AutoCAD reverting back to their original values. If the problem persists, you may need to reach out to Autodesk Support for further assistance.
