Problem: I'm logged into W7 via RDC and use the Ctr+Alt+End and choose the option of 'restart'. When the machine boots up to the login screen, I am unable to send an RDC request to the machine to enter the log-in credentials.

Is there a setting I'm missing to allow for RDC log-in after a restart?

Thanks,

Brad

Brad, it seems like you are facing an issue with Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) on Windows 7 where you are unable to send an RDC request to the machine to enter login credentials after restarting the machine. This issue might be related to the session settings or permissions. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem: 1. Check Remote Desktop Settings: - Open the Control Panel on the remote Windows 7 machine. - Navigate to "System and Security" > "System" > "Remote settings." - Ensure that "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)" is selected. - Check the "Select users" button to make sure the user account you are trying to use for RDC is...

- Check the "Select users" button to make sure the user account you are trying to use for RDC is listed and has the necessary permissions. 2. Adjust Power Management Settings: - Sometimes, power management settings can affect RDC connections after restarts. Make sure that the network adapter or the computer itself is not set to power down to save energy. - Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and adjust settings to prevent the network adapter or computer from going to sleep. 3. Check Firewall and Network Settings: - Ensure that the Windows Firewall or any third-party firewall software is not blocking RDC connections. - Verify that the network settings on the remote Windows 7 machine are correct and that it is connected to the network. 4. Reset Remote Desktop Connection: - Restart the Remote Desktop Services on the Windows 7 machine. You can do this by opening the "Services" snap-in (services.msc) and restarting the "Remote Desktop Services" and "Remote Desktop Configuration" services. 5. Update Remote Desktop Client: - Ensure that the Remote Desktop client on your local machine is up to date. Sometimes, outdated clients can cause connectivity issues. 6. Check Group Policy Settings: - In some cases, Group Policy settings may restrict RDC connections. Check the Group Policy settings on the remote Windows 7 machine to see if there are any restrictions in place. By following these steps, you may be able to troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing with sending RDC requests to your Windows 7 machine after a restart. If the problem persists, let me know, and we can explore further solutions.
