Windows 10 Resetting laptop via this, would like to know what exactly is kept after I do this

Resetting a password would affect nothing on the system save for the password itself. What's described in the article is for resetting a computer. Depending on which option you choose you will either loose everything for you will lose all applications and settings but keep data.

Exactly what I stated, data or nothing. Data meaning anything in your user profiles.
