Windows 7 Screen flashes black for a few seconds after initial login (after bootup).

I have tried to make sense of what others have posted and relate it to my situation but I am still somewhat confused because I have not found the same exact issue I have. I have tried a number of config settings but no joy.

I am running W7 Ult 64bit OS and have a Nvidia Quadro NVS 285...

I am not sure how long this has been occurring (possibly since OS install) but every time I bootup and then login with my password, the screen flashes black for 2-3 seconds after the initial login. If I log off and log on with my pswd, it does not always flash.

I have the most current driver for the Nvidia card.

Is this a typical W7 glitch?

Perhaps such behavior is typical to nVidia Quadro, given this card has multimonitor support.

How many monitors are connected?

Try the video driver's defaults............

I am only running 1 monitor but I think you are correct because I did a clean install in VMware and the OS does the same black screen flash straight out of the box....
