Windows 10 Set one master version of File Explorer Columns

I am using Windows 10 Enterprise. There are some basic things that I want File Explorer to show every time I open it regardless of directory or drive, such as type and size of a file.

There are other things I never ever want to see but File Explorer randomly forces them on me, such as album and contributor.

I only ever want to see the details view, never icons, never tiles, never anything but details.

Is there a way to force Windows 10 to show only what I want in the format that I want and never ever do anything different? I hate having to spend time to add file type and size and take away title, contributor, #, etc., and sometimes change from large icons and such to details. Thanks.

  • Set the view and columns you want
  • Click on the View tab
  • Click on Options > "Change Folder and Search Options"
  • Click on the View tab
  • Click "Apply to Folders"
That should set the view for all folders.
