Win 8 DP, setting up sharing, This seems much easier with the ribbon interface in Windows Explorer:

This was so much easier than my Win 7 OS where I had to set each folder up separately. In Win 8 DP when I select the top level folder sharing, in the ribbon, all the children folders were shared as well. This did not work this way in Win 7. Perhaps I did something wrong but I think not.

Setting up file sharing in Windows 8 Developer Preview (DP) indeed introduced some improvements compared to Windows 7, particularly with the ribbon interface in Windows Explorer. Here are some key points to note regarding file sharing in Windows 8 DP:
- In Windows 8 DP, when you select the top-level folder to share using the ribbon interface in Windows Explorer, the sharing settings are applied to all the child folders as well. This streamlined approach makes it more convenient to set up sharing for multiple folders at once.
- This functionality was a significant improvement over Windows 7, where you typically had to set up sharing for each folder individually, leading to a more time-consuming process.
- While the specifics of sharing settings and options may vary slightly between Windows 7 and Windows 8 DP, the general principle of sharing a parent folder and having the settings apply to its subfolders is a notable enhancement in Windows 8.
If you found the sharing process more straightforward and efficient in Windows 8 DP compared to Windows 7, it's likely due to the improved sharing interface and functionality in the newer operating system. If you encounter any specific issues or need further assistance with file sharing in Windows 8 DP, feel free to provide more details for additional support.
