Hey guys, I'm having trouble shrinking a partition. When I check "Computer" it says that my "C: OS" partition has 350 GB of 700 GB space left. Yet, when I try to shrink the partition through the built-in Disk Management, it only allows me to shrink up to 150 GB when I want to shrink by 300 GB. Can anybody help me with this?

It seems like you're encountering an issue with shrinking your partition in Windows. The discrepancy you're experiencing could be due to unmovable system files located towards the end of the partition, preventing you from shrinking it further.
Here are a few steps you can try to shrink the partition by a larger amount:
### Steps to Shrink a Partition by a Larger Amount:
1. Use Third-Party Software: Consider using a third-party partition manager software like MiniTool Partition Wizard, EaseUS Partition Master, or AOMEI Partition Assistant. These tools often provide more flexibility in managing partitions than the built-in Disk Management tool.

2. Defragment the Disk: Before attempting to shrink the partition, defragment the disk to optimize its layout. This may help in moving the system files to a more accessible location, allowing for a larger shrinkage.
3. Disable System Protection: Temporarily disable System Protection and delete all restore points. This can sometimes free up space occupied by system restore points, enabling you to shrink the partition further.
4. Check for Hibernation and Page Files: Disable hibernation if it's enabled and reduce the size of the page file to a minimum. These steps can help free up space at the end of the partition for shrinking.
5. Check for Shadow Copies: Check if there are any shadow copies occupying space on the drive. You can use the vssadmin command in Command Prompt to manage shadow copies.
### Additional Notes:
  • Always back up important data before resizing partitions to prevent data loss in case of unexpected errors.
  • Ensure your system is in a stable state without any ongoing processes that might interfere with partition resizing.
If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
