Windows 7 Sound issue: laptop - TV.. I'm useless. Please help.

Hi folks, I'm using my laptop (Toshiba Satellite, Windows 7) with my TV. That all works fine. My issue is that using the line out, the sound works with the TV, but also with the speakers on the laptop. I assumed that using a line out would automatically mute the internal speakers, but that is not the case, and as such, there is a slight delay between the internal speakers, and my surround system. Any ideas how to switch off my laptops speakers....

Click speaker icon and slide the slider all the way down to zero or hit the mute key on laptop keyboard.
