I know Vista uses 15% of HD by default for system restore and there is no simple access to change it. I haven.t been able to find out anything about Windows 7 is it much the same?

I found what I was looking for in the advanced system settings. In Windows 7 they did add a slider to adjust the size you wanted to allot to system restore. In Vista it is annoying to have 15% of the HD allotted to system restore and no simple adjustment available I did find out how to change it with command prompt.

Hi Joe,To turn off Sys Restore in Vista(Start/Helpand Support/Type in "System Restore" and Enter)
Item 4..Turn Sys Restore On/Off..and follow instructions..
Havent tried it in WIN7 yet but will have a go later.Wouldnt advise turning it off unless you have some other back up ..eg Ghost or Acronis ..Cheers
