When you open lightroom for the first time you get a "helpful" video to watch... if you want it or not because there is no off button.

work around; on a windows machine you can press the [esc] key to kill the opening video and get on with your work.

Of course the next thing that happens is yet another "HELPFUL" video explaining how fantastic lightroom is & how simple they made it to help you get the work done.

Around about now I'm looking for the off key so after some digging I find the setting to turn it off.

All you have to do is untick a box and press the [ok] button... How could Adobe possibly fuck that up?

It can be frustrating when software presents tutorials or helpful videos that you may not need. The Lightroom interface might not have a straightforward way to turn off these videos. However, on Windows, pressing the [Esc] key can help dismiss the opening video. If you want to stop these videos from playing or prompting you, you can usually find a setting to disable them. In Lightroom, there is a checkbox that you can untick to prevent these videos from showing. Simply unselect the box labeled "Show 'What's New' on launch" and click OK to save the setting. This should prevent the videos from displaying every time you open Lightroom.
