OS: Win 7 64-bit -- new install less than 1 month -- all updates ran

When using Windows Fax and Scan most faxes are able to go out. There is a certain Spreadsheet that cannot consistently be sent. This has been tried on multiple machines with the same setup and install date. These were previously working then after a couple of weeks the error started.

Error is as follows:

There was an error in sending the fax. The error can be because of different print resolutions used in sending various parts of this fax. Please use the same resolutions on all attachments in the fax.

There is only one attachment -- a tif file being generated by Printing to the Fax directly from the spreadsheet. There is not a desire to print to another format and then fax attachment as all other types of faxes do send with no errors. I have tried removing and reconfiguring the Win Fax and Scan program.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It seems like you are encountering an issue with sending a fax using Windows Fax and Scan on Windows 7 64-bit. The error message you're receiving indicates a potential problem with different print resolutions used in sending different parts of the fax. Since you mentioned that most faxes are able to go out successfully, except for a specific spreadsheet that consistently fails to send, here are some steps you can take to address this issue:

Steps to Resolve Fax Sending Error:

  1. Check Print Resolution:
    • Verify the print resolution settings for the specific spreadsheet document. Make sure it matches the resolution settings used for other successful faxes. You can adjust the print settings in the spreadsheet...

You can adjust the print settings in the spreadsheet application before sending the fax.
    []Inspect Attachment Format:
    • Ensure that the attachment (the tif file generated by Printing to Fax) is compatible with Windows Fax and Scan. Verify that the file is not corrupted and meets the required specifications for fax transmission.
    [
    ]Reconfigure Fax Settings:
    • Try reconfiguring the fax settings in Windows Fax and Scan to see if it resolves the issue. You can double-check the resolution settings within the fax software to ensure they are consistent with the attachment.
    []Perform Printing Troubleshooting:
    • Check if there are any specific printing settings within the spreadsheet application that could be impacting the fax transmission. Ensure that the print settings are optimized for compatibility with faxing.
    [
    ]Test on a Different Machine:
    • As you mentioned trying the process on multiple machines with the same setup, consider testing the fax transmission with the problematic spreadsheet on a different machine to determine if the issue persists.
    []Update Printer Drivers:
    • Ensure that the printer drivers are up to date on the machines where the faxing is being attempted. Outdated printer drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
    [
    ]Alternative Faxing Methods:
    • If the issue persists, you may explore alternative methods for faxing the spreadsheet, such as using third-party fax software or converting the spreadsheet to a different format before faxing. If after trying these steps, the issue persists, it might be beneficial to contact Microsoft support or the manufacturer of the spreadsheet application for further assistance in resolving this fax sending error.
