Windows 7 Tired of waiting for upgrade

I bought a Lenovo Laptop a few months ago with Vista and applied for the 7 upgrade. It's now been nearly 2 months after the October 22nd launch date. There's been 2 many delays. So my question is that if I can "obtain" Windows 7; will I be able to use it unactivated on the trial until I get a licence from Lenovo? Will the Lenovo licence even work on the Windows 7 I obtain or will it only work on the disc they are going to send me?

Any version of win 7 runs 30 days in evaluation mode and microsoft has allowed a feature called rearm that will extend the 30 day triall 3 more times.
