My Toshiba notebook has a yellow triangle on the "Trusted Execution Engine interface" driver, in Device manager. The error message says it has not started, I have tried to update but it just says driver installed is the one, so, firstly what is this driver for? and will it hurt to uninstall the driver then restart windows.?
Solution
It's used by Secure Boot to validate the OS starts and is a trusted environment (example the boot loader is digitally signed and hasn't been compromised). If you don't have secure boot enabled then it's a non-issue. If you just want to fix it, you may also need to upgrade the firmware on your system. Removing and re-installing the driver should be fine.
