I am totally unable to install any gadgets.
I am unzipping into a temporary directory then copying the .gadget file to the empty directory given to me by shell:gadgets.
Clicking on that and chosing [Install] goes without error, but the gadget is not installed.
I would have thought that shell:gadgets would have presented me with the actual directory in which the gadgets are installed which is quite different from the one given to me by shell:gadgets !!! I found it by accident somewhere in Programme Files ISTR!!
Gadgets is a total boorag!

Hello, have you tried a System Integrity check?
Open Command Prompt as an admin and type "sfc /scannow"
Post back.
