Windows 7 Unable to find software for the selected file: [username]

whenever i startup my computer, I am greeted with a File Association Helper message reading:
Unable to find software for the selected file.
File name: Jonah (my user name on this computer)
I have also been having issues with Windows Explorer and wonder if they may be connected in some way.
