It seems like you have discovered a large number of screen capture images in a specific directory on your Windows 7 system, and you are unsure of their origin or purpose. This issue could be caused by various reasons, including software that automatically takes screenshots or saves images without your knowledge, malware, or even a feature in Windows or third-party software that automatically captures screenshots. To investigate this further and address the issue, here are the steps you can take:

Step 1: Determine the Origin of the Images

  1. Review the Date and Time Stamp: Check the date and time stamps on the images to see if they align with any software installations, updates, or suspicious activities on your computer...

  1. Review the Date and Time Stamp: Check the date and time stamps on the images to see if they align with any software installations, updates, or suspicious activities on your computer.

Step 2: Check for Malware

  1. Scan for Malware: Use up-to-date antivirus software to scan your system for any malware or suspicious programs that might be responsible for generating these images.

Step 3: Manually Remove the Images

  1. Backup Critical Data: Before deleting any files, make sure to back up important data to prevent accidental loss.
  2. Delete Unwanted Images: You can manually delete the images from the specified directory (C:\users\your username\AppData\Roaming). You can also use tools like CCleaner to help clean up unnecessary files.

Step 4: Prevent Future Unwanted Screen Captures

  3. Review Installed Programs: Check the list of installed programs on your system to identify any software that might be capturing screenshots without your consent.
  4. Disable Automatic Screen Capture: If you find any software responsible for the screenshots, check its settings to disable automatic screen capture features.

    Additional Tips

    • Clear Temporary Files: Regularly clear temporary files using tools like Disk Cleanup to free up space.
    • Regular Maintenance: Perform regular system maintenance tasks to keep your system clean and optimized.
If you need further assistance or clarification on any of these steps, feel free to ask!
