Windows 7 Upgrade freezes trying to restart

Hi all, I hope you can help me.

I've been trying to upgrade from windows vista home premium to windows 7 ultimate. Everything seems to install ok up until 62%. I came on this website and have since tried to fix the problem.

Now, though, the installation reaches 62% and then says 'The setup will continue after the computer has restarted'. However, the computer never restarts and, after leaving it for about 8 hours, the same message is still there.

I have run the compatibility checker and what not which says my computer can install windows 7. A friend of mine with an older laptop with a lower spec than my computer was able to install windows 7 so I don't think this is an issue.

Any ideas would be great,

Thanks

Drew,

Thanks for your reply. I have previously tried using the fix and doing it manually. The screen saying its at 62% is replaced by the one letting you know the computer is restarting as part of the upgrade so I don't know if it is actually stuck at 62%.
