I apologize if the answer is posted somewhere else, but I can't seem to find it.

Can you retrieve your program files from windows.old, after clean install of Windows 7? If you double click on a program within the windows.old file, it works. How do I transfer these programs out of this folder and into Windows 7 Program files?

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
The only programs you could do that with are the ones that don't use an installer. Any program that uses an installer will have to be installed that way. Otherwise the registry will have no clue where to find it. Believe me I tried what you are suggesting once and it was a total fiasco.

So basically, all you have is potential config files, other then that, just a list of programs you need to re-install.
After you're done with it, Run Disk Cleanup as an admin to get rid of that folder, it typically takes 30 GB of space.
