Hi all,

Do you own an USB Bluetooth Dongle? I want to ask can I wake up my PC by Bluetooth mouse or keyboard out from S3 mode?

Thanks,
Bee

Hello Bee, Using a USB Bluetooth dongle can enable you to wake up your PC from sleep mode (S3) with a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, but it's not always guaranteed to work. Here's what you need to consider: 1. Bluetooth Device Compatibility: Your Bluetooth mouse or keyboard must support waking the PC. This feature is known as Wake-on-Bluetooth (WoB). 2. BIOS Settings: Make sure that your motherboard supports wake events from Bluetooth devices. Check your BIOS settings for options related to waking the PC with Bluetooth devices. 3. USB Bluetooth Dongle: If your PC doesn't have built-in Bluetooth capability, you'll need a USB Bluetooth dongle. Ensure that the dongle is recognized in S3 mode for it to work. 4. Driver...

Driver Support: Check if the drivers for your Bluetooth dongle and Bluetooth devices support wake functionality. Updating drivers may be necessary. 5. Power Management Settings: Verify that your Bluetooth devices are allowed to wake the PC. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows. To set up Wake-on-Bluetooth, follow these steps: 1. Enable in BIOS: Access your BIOS settings and enable WoB or any similar setting related to waking the PC using Bluetooth. 2. Device Manager Configuration: - Right-click on your Bluetooth device in Device Manager. - Go to "Power Management" tab. - Check "Allow this device to wake the computer." - Also, check "Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer" if available. 3. Bluetooth Settings: - Go to Device Manager. - Right-click on your Bluetooth radio (dongle). - Check "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." 4. Pairing Devices for Wake: Ensure that your Bluetooth mouse or keyboard is paired and connected to your PC before putting it to sleep (S3 mode). This setup should allow you to wake your PC using a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard. Keep in mind that the success of this feature can vary depending on hardware and software compatibility. Feel free to try it out and see if it works for your setup!
