Frequently lately i have bee asked about Windows Vista and active Sync. to this i Replied Windows Active Sync does not work in Windows Vista. windows Vista uses its own sync program and therefore active sync is not supported. it seems to be a little strange when Microsoft wants to have the lions share of the mobile market also that they do not look at upgrading active sync to work in Vista. i have no problems active sync was and still works for me on non vista machines. So all you computer crazy like me please help in finding a way of using active sync on vista to make life much simpler.

It appears that you're encountering challenges with using Windows Active Sync on Windows Vista. Windows Vista does indeed have its own synchronization program, Windows Sync Center, which is designed to manage synchronization tasks between your computer and external devices. However, Windows Active Sync, a program primarily used for synchronizing mobile devices with Windows computers, is not supported on Windows Vista. Given that Microsoft has shifted focus to newer operating systems and mobile technologies, it's understandable that there may not have been efforts to update Active Sync to be compatible with Windows Vista. To address your need for Active Sync functionality on Windows Vista, you might consider the following alternatives or workarounds: 1. Consider Third-Party Syncing Tools: Look into third-party synchronization tools that are compatible with Windows Vista and your mobile device. There are various software options available that offer similar syncing capabilities to Active Sync. 2. Use Manufacturer-Specific Software: Check if the manufacturer of your mobile device provides any syncing software that is compatible with Windows Vista. Often, manufacturers offer their own synchronization programs tailored to work seamlessly with their devices. 3. Explore Compatibility Modes: You can try running Active Sync in compatibility mode on Windows Vista. Right-click on the Active Sync executable, go to Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. From there, you can choose to run the program in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. 4. Virtual Machine Setup: Another option could be running a virtual machine on your Windows Vista system with a supported operating system, such as Windows XP, to use Active Sync within that virtual environment. It's essential to ensure the security and compatibility of any third-party software or workarounds you choose to implement. Remember to back up your data before attempting any changes to your system. By exploring these alternatives, you may find a suitable solution to continue syncing your mobile devices with your Windows Vista computer. If you have any specific devices or requirements, feel free to provide more details for further assistance!
